Awash in a Sea of Stories
In putting together this website, I've been creating Context and Aftermath information for the Voices page for each story. In doing so, I'm reading more of the material surrounding the texts that I used directly for the stories. And I'm finding a lot more Biblical stories and details that I had remembered, or possibly even noticed before.
People that rarely get mentioned each have their own brief drama. Moses's wife, the sons of Saul, and the other sons of Noah have stories worth retelling. And there's more detail to how the children of Israel became slaves in Egypt. (It's not so much that Pharaoh woke up one day and said, "Let's make these random people into slaves." Rather, as I read Genesis 47, Joseph drove a tough bargain in exploiting the famine, and Pharaoh ended up owning everything that once belonged to the people.)
All of which could expand the Book of Voices continuum (though probably not the book itself, which feels complete) at some point. I'm not immediately planning to write it myself. But maybe there could be fan fiction?
